I find myself more and more often in disagreement with many people, sometimes close friends.
I reckon I’m “weird” and it’s not new. Fortunately some appreciate weirdness.
I think the transformation work I have done in the past years made me more “weird”. I tend to see the world in a different way than the way I was seeing it only a few years ago.
For example, in the LeWeb times (the old conference I started in 2003 and ran for 12 years or something) I would have been all over AI.
I would have been preaching why AI is going to disrupt everything, why we need to embrace it, why everything has to use AI, why you should invest in AI, put AI in your products, feature the best speakers in AI…
I also like to say what I think without filter. So here it is…

There is NOTHING that I can be LESS excited about than reading a book or a text written by a machine, a movie made by an AI no matter how advanced it is.
I am interested in life. I prefer a human being telling me things with flaws and making mistakes than a robot, no matter how good and impressive it gets.
I prefer to see original art than AI art no matter how cool it looks like and I am not the only one.
I think we will soon see a new label “made by humans” vs “made by an AI” instead of “made by hand” vs “made in China”.
Made by humans will be more valuable. Made by humans will be more interesting especially if it’s genuine, honest, authentic and if the humans say what they think. It will get rare in the future.
So I disagree with many friends.

Fortunately I have many friends whom I can disagree with, have an interesting conversation about our disagreement and stay friends or even get our friendship stronger.
I feel we forgot the art disagreeing with each other.
If you disagree with someone they are often upset, annoyed, disappointed, stop talking to you… anything like that.
Why can’t we disagree and talk about it anymore? What happened? I like exchanging views, especially radically opposed ones, it’s always interesting.
That’s how people start fighting and sometimes harm each other. That’s how wars start often.
I hope we can disagree often and talk about it. Also, in French we say “only the idiots don’t change their mind” (seulement les imbeciles ne changent pas d’avis).
I would love if you dropped a comment explaining why you are so excited by AI made texts, movies, anything… or why you also think it will never replace human creativity.
Bonsoir Loic,
Ne change rien, be and stay yourself !
Amitiés Marc
One of the wonderful benefits of one of the areas Loic is focusing on is Indigenous Tribes - whose knowledge and experience as about as far away from AI as is possible - and it is wonderful in so many aspects. Their wisdom is totally based on human experience and interaction with both nature and other humans and animals - cannot get any better than that. Go Loic
