Our eyes are elsewhere but the fires in the Amazon forest are worse than last year and this is what it looks like after in many places.
Why are we burning it? To grow soy exported around the world to feed cattle to make our burgers and steak. Each time I feel like steak I try to think about this picture and reduced to now once a week or less asking about the cow history.
Problem is most of the times the restaurant does not know then I should not eat it.
Ask your restaurant or butcher where are the cows from and what they were fed. Just asking the question will raise awareness. No need to ask a supermarket, even Whole Foods - it’s mostly coming from cattle fed with soy from Brazil.
