My experience with "spiritual healing" of the body happened recently, after reading something about shamanic healing in "Le Cercle de Vie" book by Maud Séjournant. I decided to try to access old traumas deep down. I asked my spiritual guide to help find the source for traumas in the subconscious and to heal it. As an example : I as born with the ombilical cord around my neck, so I wondered it this could have been a trauma that still weighted on my health. So I asked my spiritual guide to access the memories of this trauma and to remove all effects it might have caused on my subconscious mind. I believe the subconscious and the physical are linked, and it was confirmed to me because after trying to heal from various traumas that day, I felt so good that I didn't slept at all that night ! Edit : I did allthis while in a deep meditative state, and thanks to a deep connection established before with my spirit guides.

By all means, read (if you have not already) Alexandra David Néel « Mystiques et magiciens du Tibet », it will echo your experience pretty well (an echo from the early 20th century), with the same rationalist/believer mixed viewpoint that you have

From my point of view, healers exist. Trying to explain them with a rational mind is...staying at the mind level. When you go deeper inside you, you experiment other levels and being connected to those levels helps you "see" that you cannot explain everything even if your mind needs it to be at ease. In the US you might have heard about medical medium and the way he explains his abilities. In other traditions, this is less openly shared. I also think it is very difficult to heal yourself even if you are able to heal others, but then again requesting help can be done and observe what just is, is a way of experimenting that help.

I like the I can’t explain part. Thanks for sharing all this.

I love this idea Loïc "Perhaps the role of the healer is just to help you convince yourself that it’s now gone, the “show” or moves the healer performs matter only on helping you get convinced.”

I would say it is like traditional religion, at the end what is important is not if God(s) exist(s) or not, but more the positive effects (faith, love) it has on people who do believe God(s) support(s) them.
